Swix P-Sticks are just what you need to repair that gouge in the base of your ski. The black p-tex sticks are for base repairs on skis and snowboards and should not be used with a p-tex gun. Just light the end of the drip candle, wait until it burns cleanly, and then allow the base repair material to drip into the base. Level it off with your steel scraper for a professional base repair.
