We closed the shop here in Sandy on Sunday March 15, 2020. We are adhering to protocols on social distancing during the Covid-19 outbreak, to ensure everyone is safe and healthy! We remain open online for all your product needs, and it is shipping as usual!
How do we get in touch with you?
Please feel free to call the shop at 801-413-8009 between before 4pm. A small number of employees are here to answer your support questions and help you returning gear, or picking up tuned equipment. If no one answers, feel free to leave a detailed message. Someone will return your call as promptly as possible.
What do I do with my rental gear?
If you currently have outstanding rental gear, please return to our shop as soon as possible. Someone will be contacting you to facilitate the return of any equipment. Thank you!
I need to get my tuned equipment but your closed?
We currently have a small number of employees staffed to handle rental returns and pick ups for tuned equipment. Please come to the backdoor. If the door is locked, just knock and someone will be glad to assist you. You may also reach out by telephone at 801-413-8009 to alert us of your arrival.
Wow! Where do you get all your inventory of used ski gear?
This may be the #1 question we get asked when people see our great selection and low prices. There are 2 things we do that really helps us find all this great ski stuff. #1 Spend 365 days a year trying to find people selling great deals on ski equipment. #2 when we do find them, treat them well and come back often.
Do You really have good $99 ski packages? Is it just a season rental or old junk?
No, it’s not a season rental, or old junk. But for about the same price and quality of a rental you get to own a great ski package. Yes, we really do have adult and kids ski packages for $99! At least while supplies last, normally we get low of some sizes around or just after Christmas. Our $99 ski package includes freshly tuned skis with bindings, and boots all adjusted and ready to ski. To date we have outfitted hundreds of people with our ski packages. All our packages are backed by our 100% satisfaction Guarantee. There is one catch though, currently we have a home based business so you will need to set an appointment.
Where are you guys?
We are located at 600 E 9400 S in Sandy, Utah, right on the way up to Alta and Snowbird. Stop by during our business hours, 10am – 6pm, during ski season 8 am – 8pm, and starting February 23rd, 8:00 am – 7pm, 7 days a week – or set up a free appointment time for a custom fitting. Do you take Credit Cards?
Yes! We take cash and all credit cards on our website and in person at our store.
Your ski package sounds amazing, what else do you guys carry?
Online we sell a lot of ski accessories by many major brands.
Besides what we have on our web store, locally we have many more new and used skis, boots, poles, goggles helmets and more. A lot of the used and closeout items we sell we cannot order more, once once we sell out, it’s gone.
I have no idea what to get for me (or for someone else), can you help me?
Yes! Helping people get the right setup at the right price is one of the things we do best. Both Esther and Travis, Owners of Utah SKI Gear have worked at Brighton as full time ski instructors and have worked with literally thousands of skiers over the years. Yes! We are happy to ship anything we have anywhere in the US. If you are outside the US please contact us about international shipping. You can purchase online and shipping will be automatically calculated, or call or text us at 801-413-8009 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
What if I don’t see what I want, or I do see it, but I only want part of it, like a binding off a ski?
For used gear we will always have much more than what you see in stock, and we are happy to sell you what we have. In most cases we can sell just the components. For new inventory if we carry that brand but not the product you are looking for, there is a good chance we can get it for you.
Do you do consignment?
No, we own the entire inventory. We feel like this is better for you the customer because:
- It allows us to inspect, tune and repair the skis we sell right here in our shop.
- By not having to pay out to consignors, we feel like it allows us to offer you better deals on the ski gear we sell.
- Most importantly we can then offer you a full refund if you are not happy for any reason. See our Guarantee page.
Typically we are able to pay you cash for your good new and used ski items, so you don’t need to wait for an item to sell and then a check.
Do you do rentals?
No, we sell new and used skis so you won’t need to rent. But, if you only need your skis for a short time, such as a weekly ski trip to Utah, we are happy to buy them back at the end of your trip. If you need them for a growing child, we can buy them back at the end of the season or trade them in for another size.
Wow, your prices on new inventory is the best I have found!
Yes, we have been told that for the ski brands we carry when people buy either in store or from this website. We can do that because we keep our overhead very low. But we also sell, usually for slightly more on our Amazon and eBay stores.
What if I am not happy with something I got from you?
We offer a full and complete refund! Travis and Esther are both ski instructors and have spent a lot of time on the hill looking at skiers of all ages and abilities and their equipment. We do our best to match people up with ski gear that will work well for them. We want people to love skiing as much as we do so we encourage you to bring your equipment back if it doesn’t work for you.
